Pierre D’Avesn (1901-1990) is a sculptor and designer artist graduated from the Paris School of Decorative Arts. The artist's works are characteristic of the Art Deco movement which shows, after the extravagances and curves of Art Nouveau, a return to classical rigor: symmetry, stylized orders and floral decor but severely framed. The precision and finesse of the artist, as well as the rendering of the volumes to the gouache and the pastel, give incredible realism to the drawings. These drawings are preparatory works for the realization of various objects of Art Deco style.
