Genaille Alexandre (1884-1947) is a Parisian painter and designer graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts. He spent 23 years in New York where he started watercolor on the basis of preparatory drawings in pencil. Back in France, he produced numerous watercolors and drawings, the main subjects of which were the picturesque French villages of Seine and Marne and Normandy. Alexandre Genaille is a lover of nature, he draws and paints forests and their trees of all species, rivers and flowered gardens. His return from New York marks the development of new artistic activities such as stencils, lithography, painting or sculpture.
