But after 3 years, he took a break when he joined the army. In 1942, he was caught without permission drawing pictures, he was suspected of being a spy. For this reason, he will be held incommunicado for 3 months in prison, after which he will be exonerated and released. After that, he decides to devote his life to modeling, pottery, drawing and painting. In the 1945s, he exhibited his works at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon du Mai, in the company of greats such as Picasso, Matisse, Léger and Pignon. In 1950, began a long exhibition tour in France and in the whole world which ended in 2007. Marcel Mouly was inspired by his travels to create, works of interior scene, landscapes, marine and nature dead. From his technique, derived from the heritage of cubism, each of his compositions resembles a stained glass window from which one could almost separate glasses. Her painting is illuminated from within as if an invisible sun shines upon her, filled with peaceful and happy strength where harmony reigns. She is a faithful reflection of her personality. A sensitive vibration emerges from the artist’s works, with oppositions of tones that are sometimes very daring, in the service of his artistic will. The painter Marcel Mouly is a powerful figure in the panorama of contemporary painting, he passed away on January 7, 2008, before knowing his granddaughter, Manon.
