Exper's comment : The View from Bonsecours is an oil on canvas painted by Pierre Lucien LE TRIVIDIC (1898-1960). An artist of the Rouen School, he is part of the post-impressionists and succeeds Charles FRÉCHON (1856-1929) and Joseph DELATTRE (1858-1912). This work is part of his usual repertoire, mainly composed of landscapes of the surroundings of Rouen. With this painting, Le Trividic paints a view of the city with a thousand bell towers so important in the corpus of the Rouen School. We can perfectly recognize in this work the artist's characteristic touch, marked by an almost palpable dynamism in each element. His painting, giving the impression of being done "on the spot", expresses a certain spontaneity on the part of the painter.
