Biography : Jordi Bonas is a painter born in Barcelona on August 28, 1937. For 5 years, he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, he worked with Pedro Pruna. Then Bonas arrived in Paris in 1959, he settled there. He showed expressionist works in gouaches and oils in Montmartre, Galerie Bussière. In the meantime, he exhibited in Barcelona, at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris, and in Munich, Limington, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam. From 1963 to 1964, he restored paintings at the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris and frescoes throughout France. Jordi Bonas takes part in the restoration of the Saint-Jean de Montmartre church, on the Place des Abbesses. From 1964 to 1967, he was under contract with Adamo Gallery in New York, present at Art World in Chicago. He exhibits his works there permanently. For fifteen years, Jordi Bonas has lived and worked in the Loire Valley. He received the International Gemmail Prize in Tours, in 1992.
