Expert commentary : Thanks to Etienne Gaudet, discover the nature and the landscapes of the Pays de la Loire at the beginning of the century in soft colors where the luminosity is always present. I particularly like the blue which uses and characterizes him, and which make his works so warm.
Biography : French painter, engraver and illustrator by profession clerk then editor of the prefecture in Blois. He took his first painting lessons in Nevers at the municipal school of fine arts. He met the painter and engraver Fernand Chalandre (1879-1924) who introduced him to wood engraving.
