Expert commentary: Claude Vietho (1915-2004) captures with talent the fleeting moments of everyday life which are nevertheless rich in poetry. To do this, the line is quick and light, sometimes simplifying while being expressive and elegant. The landscapes that he sometimes offers us as unusual discoveries are often borrowed from a certain melancholy. As a nature lover, he enjoys painting and drawing trees and animals, especially cats and horses. Women are also one of his favorite subjects Vietho has made many portraits and some nudes. In Vietho's works, there is always something to be discovered and their contemplation invites us to take the time to focus our attention on the essential. His artistic approach will lead him from time to time with great success to create abstract works such as "New York" or "while waiting for Godot".
