Real self-taught, he paints according to his drives. " For me, painting it is the adventure " He is constantly experimenting with new techniques, this artist will never cease to amaze inexhaustible by these innovations. 1945 - Exhibition at Salon des Independants in Paris. 1946 - Participation at the Salon d'Automne in Paris. 1949, 1953, 1955, 1959 - Solo exhibition at Galerie Katia Granoff Honfleur. 1967-The artist organizes his first personal exhibition in his workshop of Pennedepie. He reveals his art to a wider audience. 1960 - Seduced by Normandy, Gilbert CORSIA buys a villa in Pennedepie, between Deauville and Honfleur. His portraits, landscapes and still lives seduce by the sensual and luxurious aspect of the thick dough. Color is the key word. His work became freer and rapidly evolving. He made the leap from figuration in destabilizing the representation of reality. 1967 to 1980 - His creativity extends to music, sculpture and poetry. In 1985, the artist celebrates 50 years of painting. On this occasion, two large retrospective exhibitions devoted to it. That same year, Gilbert CORSIA dies of cancer at the age of 70, leaving behind him a work in his own image; soft, secret, strong and monumental.
